A revolutionary step in the recycling of solar panels: TECHNOWORLD becomes the first company in the Czech Republic to introduce Japanese "hot knife" technology!

20 June 2025

Prague, 20 June 2025 - TECHNOWORLD, the leading WEEELABEX-certified solar panel processor in the Czech Republic, has introduced innovative new Japanese technology to recycling these sorts of panels. The company became the first in the country to introduce this innovative technology, brings significant streamlining of the recycling process and a shift towards greater sustainability.

One key advantage of the new technology is its ability to remove glass from a panel without compromising its integrity. The so-called "hot knife" method makes it possible to quite literally "peel" the glass from the panel. Another huge advantage of the technology is that the significant increase in the purity of all output fractions. This enhances sales opportunities, particularly when it comes to glass, because the glass is not contaminated with lead, as in the case of milling or crushing panels.

From this perspective, the new technology has no problem meeting the statutory quota for the recovery and recycling of solar panels, which is, unfortunately, problematic when it comes to older methods that are based on crushing panels.

"By introducing this technology, we are raising standards in the field of solar panel recycling on the Czech market. This is the result of the company's long-term strategy, aimed at responsibly managing e-waste and continual investment in innovation," says Mgr. Helena Nehasilová, Chief Operating Officer.

The company has long been a proponent of efficiency, ecology, and technological development. This new technology is a major advance on the solar panel recycling market.
